Wild marjoram / Origanum vulgare

Oregano is a perennial, bushy plant that thrives mainly in Europe and the Middle East. It has green leaves and white flowers and grows to a height of 30-80 cm. It can be cultivated in coastal or mountainous areas with a temperate or arid climate.

Oregano is mainly used as a herb in cooking. Its dried leaves and flowers are used to make infusions. Oregano essential oil is used externally for various conditions, such as headaches, colds, arthritis, stomach ulcers, toothache, asthma, dandruff, and dry skin. It is diuretic, facilitates digestion, and tones the nervous system.

Oregano seeds can be sown from October until late spring, so that they bloom from early summer to early autumn. It loves sun and warmth, but is resistant to cold. It is best to water it frequently, and it is not easily affected by diseases and weeds. The leaves and flowers should be harvested during flowering, while pruning is carried out after the end of flowering.
