This effort aims to assist in understanding a quite complex yet vital regulatory system called the Endocrine System. Critical functions of the body, such as metabolism, growth of the human body, reproduction, and the maintenance of homeostasis (stability), are made possible through close collaboration with the nervous system, sending chemical messages - hormones - to distant target organs, influencing everything from mood to heart function, blood sugar regulation, growth, and reproduction.
