The Maraquoii have recently begun their development and have made rapid technological progress thanks to interplanetary trade, but they retain many of their ancestors' traditions. Efforts to declare Marata the protector of the Pact Worlds have been successful, but expansionists failed to block the strict sanctions isolating the moon from foreign trade. Some tribes have adopted technology and built cities, exploiting and exporting Marata's natural resources, contrary to their communist traditions. Tensions are rising quickly between these tribes and the more conservative groups, and some Maraquoi fear that their society is on the brink of an irreversible rupture.
