  • CPU Speed

The speed at which the processor operates in everyday use.

During the execution of demanding applications (e.g. games), the frequency may automatically increase up to the Maximum Processor Frequency.

  • Cores

The natural individual processing units that the processor has. The more cores a processor has, the more efficient it is in running multiple applications simultaneously. For simple use, 4 cores are sufficient, while for gaming and video processing, at least 6 are recommended.

  • Socket

    The processor socket type.

The motherboard we choose should have the same socket in order for the processor to "fit in".

  • Maximum CPU Speed

The maximum processor frequency is the frequency that the processor can reach when executing demanding applications that use one core. Generally, when running demanding applications (e.g. games), the frequency can automatically increase up to the Maximum Processor Frequency depending on the number of cores in use. (the fewer cores are active, the closer they can operate to the maximum frequency)

  • Unlocked

Ability to change the processor clock settings to achieve higher operating frequency (overclocking).

  • Cache Memory

Cache is a very fast memory that acts as an intermediary between the processor and RAM. It stores data that is frequently useful to the processor for faster access.

This review is about the packaging: Box

The No. 1 gaming CPU right now.
    (Strictly for gaming—not multitasking).
It’s worth choosing it ONLY if the price difference from the 9800X3D is very small—around €20–40 max, I’d say. Because the performance difference is at most 5%, at best.
I’m running it with PBO -20 and +200 MHz for maximum gains, with 0 crashes in gaming and benchmarks. It’s paired with a 5080, and the results are simply insane in all games: max settings + high FPS.

The best processor for gaming at the moment! It is slightly hotter than the 9800x3d but that's natural because it runs at higher MHz.

It replaced the 7600; the difference at 1080p is huge, but at 4K it's minimal.
