In this updated fifth edition of Transport Processes and Separation Process Principles, the main goal was to reorganize the text into a new format, similar to modern textbooks on transfer phenomena and separation processes. As a result of this revision, the total number of chapters has increased from 14 to 33. Our hope is that the readability and usability of the text have improved for students' comprehension of the material.

Due to the widespread acceptance of previous editions of the text, we made small changes to the content of the fifth edition so that many more readers can adapt to the new format.

Given that students in chemical engineering and other engineering disciplines need to study many different topics today, we have provided a more integrated introduction to momentum, heat, and mass transfer processes, as well as their applications in separation processes.
