Description

An amazing reproduction of a unique album featuring iconic photographs by Helmut Newton, including many unpublished images. The German-Australian photographer Helmut Newton is one of the most iconic fashion photographers in the world. Inspired by expressive cinema, film noir, and surrealism, Newton was a prolific image creator and visionary whose bold work helped shape modern photography and visual art.

In 1999, together with friend and collector Gert Elfering, Newton compiled a ‘One-off’ photographic album with his boundary-breaking work. Helmut Newton: One-off reproduces this album in its entirety, faithfully to the original size, offering readers the opportunity to access this remarkable object and admire Newton's process and ingenuity.

The stunning album includes over 100 photographs – 8 unique Polaroids, 16 chromogenic prints, and 79 gelatin silver prints – each accompanied by Newton's handwritten note. Along with the album, the book features an introduction by Philippe Garner, photography expert and Vice President of the Helmut Newton Foundation, as well as an in-depth interview between Matthias Harder, Director of the Helmut Newton Foundation, and Gert Elfering, providing an immersive look into Newton's creative process.
