This is the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn! If you are looking for top-level shock absorption with a soft landing, you are in the right place. The shoe works like a spring, once you get used to its relatively high stack. Let's clarify what it is NOT. It's not a stability shoe, nor is it very fast, nor for those who want a firmer ride or immediate energy return. Personally, I got it for recovery-easy runs (5’40 – 5’15) and long runs (4’50-5’10). I was between this, the Vista 1, and the Novablast 5. Coming from Achilles tendonitis, I ultimately chose this shoe (purchased at €120 on Black Friday), as it was recommended by the Doctors of Running and they were probably right. (For reference, I am 1.85m, 74kg, do 4-5 workouts per week, with marathon time 3:18 and half 1:28, and a normal foot strike).

I will give it 4 stars only because of the fit. I have a relatively wide foot and don't buy narrow shoes because I have a bunion issue. I want room in the front and this shoe is -excessively- comfortable. I generally wear size 46, only in the Boston 12 did I go down to 45 1/3. For these, I initially tried 45, based on centimeters. Then I tried 44.5, which was perfect in length, but tight in the toebox, and since I intended it for long training sessions, I finally got the larger size (45), which was perfect in the front but a bit long. At first, I was afraid my foot would be swimming, maybe because of the knit upper, and also the ankle is not ideally supported. However, in training, with a normal or thick sock, you don't really notice this, at least not to a significant degree, and the shoe fits well. Beyond that, I wanted something softer, even though I'm not crazy anymore about very soft soles, for days when my legs are heavy or to make long runs more comfortable. Last year I ran with the Ride 17, you can see my review for those, which are the other extreme. Durable but harder and without much cushioning (somewhere at 122 based on the reputable cut in half, with 129 as reference, while the Vista 2 has 170!!!).

So, this shoe is very good, I've already done 150km and I'm completely satisfied. It is definitely relatively heavy. It has a lot of material underfoot, but how else could it have such cushioning? I also think it will suit those who land midfoot or forefoot, as that's where you feel the pop. You land and don't feel the push suddenly, like with carbon, but 'smoother' and maybe a bit slower. Anyway, after easy and relaxed runs, I feel like I haven't run at all. Even after a 1.5-hour training session at 5’15, I finished and felt like I just walked. I haven't tried it yet at marathon pace/tempo (4'30-4’40). In some short sections at 4’50, it was ok. I didn't say wow, but it covered me. Also, they show no wear, and I run them on asphalt. I only tried them once on a track, but I think the feeling there is unfair, as the tartan is already soft plus this very soft shoe, and the natural bounce is lost, it felt more mushy. Finally, if you have a more rolling style and don't land hard like I do, I think you'll appreciate it even more. In conclusion, I recommend the shoe if you are looking for something in its category, but not at its original release price. From 130 and below, yes, it's worth it!!
UPDATE (400km): the shoe remains amazing. Without the slightest wear on the sole and with the same feel. I tried it on 30km+ long runs with tempo inside (4.30-4.35) and it fully satisfied me even in heavy rain!! I confirm my initial recommendation and mainly, it leaves my legs very fresh after!!
