Through ‘‘Hermes’’ he seeks to bring «from one side Democritus to mock the bad morals, and from the other Heraclitus to weep for misery, and to teach Virtue», as he himself reveals.

Heroes of? Hermilos, a wise and prudent man, who having fallen victim to revengeful hatred, has transformed into A name.

Hermilos-goat, he narrates his adventurous life himself, to the Poet who had purchased him, and history concludes with the sale of Hermilos to an Alchemist.

An enjoyable read, particularly popular in its time, which touched the broad audience with its Free spirit and continues.
