Variety: Red cherry / Solanum lycopersicum
The cherry tomato is a small-sized climbing tomato variety that has been cultivated since the early 1800s and originates from Peru and Chile. Ideal for a large pot, they produce a large number of tomatoes.
The cherry tomato is an excellent source of vitamins A, C, and K, potassium, and manganese. It also contains vitamin E, thiamine, niacin, vitamin B6, folic acid, magnesium, phosphorus, copper, and beta-carotene. It has strong antioxidant properties, mainly due to its high lycopene content.
Germination/cultivation instructions for cherry tomatoes are included. Tomato plants pair well with garlic, marigold, onion, parsley, chives, and basil for better results. Growing garlic among tomatoes offers protection against insects and soil nematodes. Conversely, it should not be grown with potatoes and other vegetables such as fennel and corn.
This seed variety is open-pollinated, and the seeds can be saved for planting next season. The tomato fruit is usually round and red, although there are other varieties in various colors and shapes. The Latin name is Solanum lycopersicum and it belongs to the nightshade family.
The packet containing the seeds is aluminum and guarantees proper preservation for maximum germination and sprouting of the tomato seeds.
