An authentic Greek Epirus product, made with passion and respect for tradition. It is prepared from pure organic cereals cultivated in the fertile soils of Epirus, in Bourazani Konitsa, in small quantities without additives or preservatives and with pure local milk.
It is ground in a stone mill, as it used to be done in the past, to preserve the natural flavor and nutritional value of the cereals. This creates a product rich in dietary fiber, proteins, and B complex vitamins.

For 5 servings
- 1 tea cup of trachanas
- 1,200ml (5 tea cups) water
- 50ml olive oil
- A little salt
Preparation:
In a pot, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the trachanas and stir for a few minutes to coat it well with oil. Add the water and salt and bring the mixture to a boil. Once it starts boiling, reduce the heat and simmer for about 10–15 minutes until the soup thickens. There is no need to cover the pot.
Trachanas is delicious on its own, but it can be elevated with crumbled feta or grated parmesan, prosciutto, or sautéed mushrooms.
