They contain potassium, calcium and magnesium, which contribute to the normal function of muscles and the nervous system. Calcium and magnesium contribute to normal energy-yielding metabolism, while magnesium contributes to electrolyte balance, normal protein synthesis and the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.

They can be dissolved in the mouth before swallowing and can be taken regardless of water availability.
