The Diat CV-2100 is a reel-to-reel video recorder with a recording and playback mechanism that works normally. It uses 1/2-inch (13 mm) video tape, which is manually threaded around the rotating helical-scan head. It records black-and-white television programs using the skip-field method, with a maximum resolution of 200 lines.
The rotating heads use a contact system with slip rings and brushes, with two sets of brushes for greater signal reliability.
