Construction Materials & Upper Design

The upper of the HOKA Kawana 3 features redesigned mesh fabric, ensuring continuous airflow and a comfortable temperature inside the shoe. The anatomical design of the tongue and collar provides a secure fit around the ankle, reducing unwanted movement during exercise. The classic lace-up closure allows for precise adjustment of the pressure across the instep.

Shock Absorption, SwallowTail™ & Meta-Rocker

The midsole is made from lightweight, compression-molded CMEVA foam, which effectively absorbs impact forces when the foot strikes the ground. The distinctive SwallowTail™ construction in the heel area widens the contact surface, providing increased stability and smooth shock absorption. Meanwhile, the Meta-Rocker geometry (with a 5 mm drop) supports the foot’s natural roll from heel to toe, reducing joint fatigue.

Outsole & Traction

The outsole features sections of durable rubber (zonal rubber) placed in high-wear areas, such as the heel and forefoot. This design keeps the shoe’s overall weight low while ensuring a stable step and grip on hard surfaces, such as asphalt and gym floors.
