This edition is part of the series "Panadikti of Ecclesiastical Music", with the main goal of preserving and promoting the Patriarchal, but also the general Constantinopolitan, psalmody tradition of the twentieth century.
As expected, the regular chanting of the members of the Anastasimatarion "without dikthera" in Constantinople, the genuine source of Byzantine music, based on the Anastasimatarions of Konstantinos Protopsaltes and Petros Peloponnesios, early on led to the enrichment, elaboration, and more refined presentation of the spoken word and melody of the psallent chant.
The publication of a reputable Anastasimatarion by the former Archons Dikastes B' and Archon Music Teacher of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, Mr. Dimos Pait Popoulos, is not just another edition of an Anastasimatarion but a compilation that records the rich auditory tradition from the time of Jacob Nauplias, whom he listened to live, and consequently, guided by the author's extensive psalmody experience, with respect for the classic works and standards.
We could claim that this work constitutes an uninterrupted continuation of the Anastasimatarion of the Archon Protopsaltes of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, Konstantinos Priggou and Vasileios Nikolaidis, and provides a more comprehensive version in terms of content.
