This whole series of fairy tales with the flashlight is very imaginative.

It is a very beautiful little book, but there is the following problem: While the book is made of thick cardboard of very good quality and the text is suitable for ages 1.5 years, the lens is made of very very thin cardboard, which makes it a book for 3+, but then the age does not match the text.

My 22-month-old wants us to read it every night! He finds the animals with the flashlight and we say goodnight to them before we go to sleep too! Excellent book!

It's a very nice idea, but the lens tore almost immediately, so it became very difficult to use the book afterward.

Very nice book! It contains pages with transparency where you put the "lens" and search for various animals, etc. We liked it a lot!

Very nice book, perfect for bedtime. It has transparent membranes, you put a cardboard "lens" behind it and it displays the animals. Clever concept, keeps the child's interest. The lens needs a little attention so it doesn't break.

Very clever idea and definitely captures the child's interest, however:
- It requires caution because young children can tear the lens and then it becomes almost useless.
- The illustration in the areas where the lens does not fit is monotonous and repetitive.
- It could have had a storyline, like a little fairytale. No weight has been given to the story.

Good booklet for young ages, up to 2 years old. Simple text, perfect for a bedtime read. The "lens" it has is actually a white cardboard that, when placed under certain dark transparencies, makes the various animals appear clearer. The "lens" easily wears out due to use. I believe it's worth having in a young child's library, without needing to acquire the rest of the series, which have a similar philosophy and in many parts the exact same text.
update: The "lens" it has, after about a year of (limited) use, is almost destroyed. Considering the target age range, it should be made of more durable material.
