Description

Description

Alexandros Papadiamantis loved letters and books. However, what dominated his life was painting. As he grew up, he developed a desire to become a writer, to write short stories, thus painting with his pen. This talent, along with his personal study and knowledge, brought him to the highest peak of our national literature, as he was a true creator.
In his short stories featuring child heroes, he narrates his childhood memories. In this, he presents the image of childhood orphanhood, it is a hymn for the lost mother who is irreplaceable, and it gives the most sentimental, the most delicate description of Lamprini.
Excerpt from the preface by Athena Papageorgiou, director of the Alexandros Papadiamantis Museum.
