This review is about colour: Black, memory: 8/256GB

3/5 for the following reasons (I got the phone 1 week after it was released, upgrading from the iPhone Xs).

    Pros:
    1. Battery. Incredible capacity, with all the new features like charging up to 80%. The phone (according to the diagnostics menu) came with a factory capacity of 4100 mAh and 104% battery health, and after 3 months of use it has 70 charging cycles (so less than 1 per day) and 4050 or 103% battery health. I assume Apple boosts these numbers a bit so they don't drop below 80% within warranty.
    2. Camera. It's good and works relatively seamlessly, you can take good photos without much thought.
    3. Magsafe. It's a nice tool for power banks and wallets, especially for power banks that it recognizes automatically, sits correctly, etc., it's very smart.

    Cons:
    1. 0 new features compared to the iPhone Xs it replaced. Nothing new, just the same thing that will work in 2026.
    2. The iPhone-to-iPhone upgrade is not seamless, it took me about a week to transfer all the face-id enabled apps from one to the other and many things you have to set up from scratch.
    3. I'm not satisfied at all with its speed, as with most new IT products. The phone is incredibly fast and has amazing specs, but almost all apps load files from the network before starting. So an app may take longer to load than it did 18 years ago on an iPhone 3G. Especially if the network is unstable (e.g. traveling by train) the situation is dramatic.
    4. The landscape of personal data security is now very murky. To have minimal privacy security you need to have location services off, and with location services off almost nothing works. Otherwise, you may find Instagram sharing your location without you having selected it anywhere. The good thing is that if you want to break free from the deluge of Google apps, it offers you the security of the Apple Ecosystem, so you can choose between Scylla and Charybdis.

This review is about the memory: 8/256GB

Amazing speed. The battery is okay even with heavy use, it needs charging once a day. Photos are very good and it also supports night shots. I don't think it has any significant difference from the iPhone 16.
So far, I haven't found anything negative. If you want a tool with storage for photos, speed, etc. at a relatively good price, then I highly recommend it.
Various reviews like "the build is thick," "the material isn't nice" are just things to say. If you need a phone-tool for your daily life, it's definitely worth it. If you care more about the appearance of the phone than what it offers, better not buy it.

I have handled many phones from various brands and all of them were flagships; I never had an iPhone before, this is the first time I got the 17e, which is not Apple's flagship.
The size of the phone is wonderful, it fits in the pocket and is very comfortable in the hand. The screen is very good.
Even though it has only one camera, it takes very nice photos—not like flagships, but it's just fine.
It doesn't lag anywhere, it's very fast in all applications. I don't play games, so I don't know how it performs there. Its speakers are excellent, producing very nice bass. As for the battery, which is 4000, I use it normally and it lasts me a day and a half.
Overall, it is excellent. If someone is thinking of getting it, I think it is worth the money because it gives you many years of updates and upgrades, and with the A19 it will work perfectly for the next four years, maybe even a bit more.

It flawlessly meets all the functions that a phone in 2026 should have, offering excellent speed and ease of use, with satisfactory battery management. I have used many phones in the past, both flagships and not, which, although they had countless features, ended up unused as they consumed excessive energy.

The photos are crystal clear, although they may fall slightly short compared to the more expensive 17; at night it struggles a bit but manages, and for an average user the quality is more than sufficient. The screen is top-notch, offering excellent clarity, and at 60Hz I notice no issues with motion. Siri, although it only supports English, works wonders if you learn how to use it; having tried all the voice assistants, I have never seen such responsiveness.

The only thing I could criticize is the small screen size, which, however, proves to be particularly convenient for everyday use. Of course, the battery is not a "beast" and does not last for nonstop use (if you use it constantly), but it easily covers the basic needs of the day.
