Aerosol emission: 0.49 mL (2.5 mL/albuterol)

Aerosol emission rate: 0.09 mL/min (2.5 mL/albuterol)

Medication cup capacity: Minimum 2 mL - maximum 10 mL

Maximum flow: 8 LPM at 124 kPa

Particle size (MMAD): 3.1

Aerosol emission: 0.42 mL (2.5 mL/albuterol)

Aerosol emission rate: 0.15 mL/min (2.5 mL/albuterol)

Medication cup capacity: Minimum 2 mL - maximum 10 mL

Usage instructions:

  • Wash your hands before handling the medication or nebulizer.
  • Connect one end of the tube to the air outlet of the compressor or air source.
  • Connect the other end of the tube to the base of the medication cup.
  • Remove the cap from the medication cup.
  • Pour the prescribed medication into the cup, filling it with 2 - 10 mL.
  • Screw the cap back onto the cup and attach the mouthpiece or mask.

Medication administration:

  • Sit upright and relax.
  • Activate the compressor; the flow should be 6 - 8 L/min.
  • Ensure that the aerosol is visible from the mouthpiece/mask.
  • Hold the mouthpiece with your teeth (if used), seal with your lips, and inhale and exhale slowly through your mouth or place the mask firmly over your nose and mouth, and inhale and exhale slowly through your mouth.

When the SideStream begins to operate intermittently and "puffs," the treatment is complete.

Cleaning (after each use):

  • Remove the SideStream from the tube. Remove the cap from the medication cup, rinse the nebulizer and fill it with clean water. Reattach the cap to the cup and reconnect the tube. Run the SideStream again for a few seconds to clear any residual particles from the nebulizer holes.
  • Remove the nebulizer.
  • Remove the tube from the medication cup.
  • Wash all parts (except the tube) with warm water and soap.
  • Rinse all parts with clean water for 2 minutes.
  • Remove excess water by shaking and let them air dry.
  • Do not dry with a towel.
  • Reassemble the SideStream and store in a clean place when not in use.
