The filter membrane made of capillary fibers with an absolute rating of 0.1 microns acts as a mechanical barrier against a wide range of biological contaminants. This specific design removes 99.99999% of bacteria, such as Salmonella, cholera, and Escherichia coli, as well as 99.9999% of protozoa, like Giardia and Cryptosporidium. Additionally, the filter eliminates 100% of microplastics of the size retained by the membrane.

The Sawyer Mini Single Water Filter can be connected to water bladders, used with hydration system tubing, screwed onto 28 mm threaded bottles, or used for direct drinking from the source with a straw. This modular compatibility allows adjusting the filtration system setup to current field conditions and user preferences.

The package also includes a back-flush syringe that activates flow regeneration, removing accumulated debris from within the fibers.
