The Nino Marino Signature Parthenope Maki-e – The Song of Two Seas is an extremely rare pen that celebrates the meeting of two ancient cultures: the Japanese art of maki-e and Naples.
Designed in Italy and crafted in Japan, each pen is decorated with the traditional maki-e technique, applying gold and silver powders onto fresh urushi lacquer and requiring over six months of work.
The body is made from natural, hand-turned ebonite, with details of rare Mediterranean blue “pearly” celluloid. The Parthenope Maki-e is a symbol of harmony between East and West.
