WunderWaffen ("miraculous weapons") is a board game set during the last year of World War II, when the Normandy landings opened the way for the occupation of Berlin and the subsequent defeat of the German army. The simple rules of the game represent the difficult cooperation between the Russian, British, and American allies in the final phase of the war.
The German army is close to collapse, but in their laboratories, scientists and technicians are designing new and terrifying weapons, the “WunderWaffen”, hoping to change the situation from a desperate position.
During the game, the allies must carefully balance the need to advance quickly towards Berlin with the need to limit German scientific research, while also trying to help each other.
The German player must advance in Research, while at the same time mounting a desperate resistance against the allies' progress to delay the inevitable defeat for as long as possible. The Germans can also win, even after losing Berlin, thanks to a scoring system that rewards the performance of forces on the battlefield.
