Caudalis: from the Latin word cauda, meaning "tail". This species has been recorded in a large part of the lower Congo region and in the Malebo (Stanley Pool) river up to the Irebu channel. They are lively but nervous fish. When kept with other peaceful fish of similar size, they are quite calm. Keeping them in a school of at least six fish will help them feel more confident. The aquarium should have some open spaces for swimming and some planted areas to help them feel unthreatened.
