After the end of the operations and the liberation of Rimini, the men of the III EOT gathered in Senigallia, counted the absentees, returned to Riccione, where the Greek Military Cemetery is located today, held a roll call of the fallen, kneeled, all together sang the National Anthem, and made a Sacred promise to their absent comrades: Never to forget them!

This volume serves that promise made by those Rimini men. It is a Sacred duty for the younger generation not to forget the Rimini soldiers, fallen and not. (From the presentation on the back cover of the book)
