Night Soil is a mature board game that deals with hygiene in Tudor London.
As an example of cultural progress in Europe, Tudor London (1485-1603) is at the forefront of cultural and technological evolution. However, with modern sewage systems still many generations away, the city is gradually filling up with human waste, making it a particularly unpleasant place to live.
In the game, players manage competing waste companies. During the night, worker cards are used to carefully transport waste cubes through the narrow streets of London with the aim of making a profit and hiring more workers. During the day, these workers can be sent into London to advertise, gain favors from local businesses, or improve their company assets. However, having too many workers often worsens the waste problem.
At the end of the game, the player who has managed to earn the most money wins!
