The Akyga® AK-SC-E25 Type 2 socket is a male connector designed for electric vehicle charging systems. It is intended for constructing cable extensions as well as replacing sockets in existing devices such as charging stations (EVSE) or wallboxes. Thanks to its design, it is a reliable component for home and semi-professional charging installations.

Type 2 socket in accordance with the European EV charging standard

The Type 2 connector is now the most common charging standard for electric vehicles in Europe. The Akyga AK-SC-E25 AC charging socket is designed in accordance with applicable specifications, ensuring full compatibility with most electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles available on the market. This guarantees a safe and stable connection during every charging process.

Type 2 socket – safe use with alternating current

The EV charging socket operates in single-phase mode, offering a maximum charging current of up to 32 A. These parameters allow fast and efficient charging of electric vehicles without the risk of overheating or overloading the installation. Type 2 socket resistant to outdoor conditions

The Type 2 AK-SC-E25 charging socket has IP44 protection, meaning it is resistant to splashes and dust – it can be successfully installed both indoors and outdoors. The socket is equipped with a protective cap with a screw that shields the contacts from dust, moisture, and other external factors when not in use. This ensures that the overall construction maintains high durability and reliability over time.

Note – the Type 2 socket does not replace an electric vehicle charger

It is important to note that the Akyga AK-SC-E25 Type 2 socket does not function as a charger. Simply connecting it to a power source does not allow direct charging of an electric vehicle. For proper and safe charging, a dedicated device – such as an EVSE charger or wallbox – is required, which manages the charging parameters and provides appropriate communication with the vehicle. The socket serves only as a connecting element within a complete charging installation.
