The Icy Dock MB308A adapter connects NVMe drives via a PCIe 4.0 x16 interface and features two SlimSAS 8i (SFF-8654) ports, compliant with the SFF-9402 Rev 1.1 standard. It supports a total bandwidth of up to 256 Gbps and works in PCIe 2.0, 3.0, and 5.0 slots. To access four SSDs, a motherboard that supports an x4/x4/x4/x4 configuration is required.

The integrated signal retimer and 100 MHz PCIe clock buffer enhance PCIe Gen4 NVMe transmission over long distances and help maintain timing stability. The adapter has a full-height bracket and has been validated for use with Icy Dock mobile NVMe enclosures.
