It is a common understanding that interpretation has always been a specialty, and indeed a difficult one, of the ancient theologians; they cultivated it, developed it, perfected it in every manifestation and form, and from there, all other advocates of it in some way took it for further utilization. From there, we, the lawyers, also adopted interpretation, based on the many achievements of medieval theologians, while also bearing in mind the interpretative patterns of Roman legal art and ancient Greek thought.
