Our story begins on the primitive planet Roak, where Roddick lives in the peaceful and quiet town of Kratus.
As a member of the village's local "Defense Force," responsible for protecting Kratus, Roddick learns about a mysterious disease that has suddenly appeared in a neighboring town.
The infected are turned into stone, but continue to live in a petrified state.
Roddick, along with his two friends, Millie and Dorne, heads to the neighboring town.
Hearing about a cure for the disease, they visit Mount Metorx, where a healing herb is rumored to grow.
When they reach the summit, the group meets Ronyx and Ilia, who appear before them in a pillar of light.
Thus begins the story of STAR OCEAN.
