Description

Weld gives a deep red-tile color to the eggs. It is a traditional natural dye, before the ready-made dyes appeared on the market.

Materials:

  • 30–40 g chopped weld
  • 1 liter of water
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • white eggs (the color shows better)

Execution:

  • Boiling the weld: Put the weld in a pot with the water and boil for 20–30 minutes.
  • Straining: Strain the liquid to remove the pieces of the root.
  • Add vinegar: Add 1 tablespoon of vinegar (preferably white). It helps the color to “take”.
  • Egg dyeing: Put the boiled eggs in and leave them until they acquire the desired color.
  • Drying: Let them dry without wiping them.
  • Polishing (optional): With a little olive oil on cotton for shine.
