The connector facilitates the connection of radios equipped with an ISO connector to the factory car audio system. In many cases, the connector installed in the car is not an ISO connector, which causes problems when connecting an aftermarket radio. The solution to this problem is either to modify the wiring on the radio and install it in the car or to use an adapter, which is plug and play. Installing the adapter involves two steps:
- Connecting the adapter to the car's wiring
- Connecting the adapter to the radio's wiring
