Not Enough Mana is a card and mana potion consumption game for 3-6 daring wizards, strictly 18 years and older. You will eliminate each other using epic spells, curses, and artifacts, while replenishing your mana by drinking magical potions. Your goal is to eliminate all other wizards from the game, either by depleting all their life points or with a Knock-Out (also known as Too Much Mana).
What's in the box?
- 165 cards: 121 spell cards & 22 artifact cards & 11 event cards & 6 quick rules cards & 4 blank cards to create your own spells & 1 Anti-Joker
- 70 red life crystals
- 70 blue mana crystals
Preparation
- 1. Shuffle the deck thoroughly and place it in the center of the table, face down. This is the draw pile. Next to it will be the discard pile, where all discarded cards are placed face up.
- 2. The red life crystals, blue mana crystals, and mana potions should be placed in a spot easily accessible to all wizards.
- 3. Each wizard draws 10 health crystals.
- 4. Each wizard draws 5 cards into their hand.
General Rules
The oldest wizard starts the game. Then, the wizards take turns playing in a clockwise direction. 2. You can drink mana potions at any time during the game (even outside your turn). 3. When you lose all your life points or you have and cannot continue the battle, you are eliminated from the game. 4. The battle ends when the last victorious wizard remains on the battlefield.
Your Turn
- 1. At the beginning of your turn, draw cards until you reach your hand limit (usually 5).
- 2. Then, you may play, discard, and/or exchange any number of cards, in any order.
- 3. To play a card, place it on the table, pay its cost, recite the magic spell, and, if necessary, indicate the target. Then, apply the effect described on the card. Once the effect of the card you played is fully resolved, place it face up on top of the discard pile along with any cards used to pay its cost. Cards with permanent, continuous, or delayed effects remain on the board as long as their effect lasts.
- 4. To discard a card, place it face up on the discard pile.
- 5. To exchange a card, discard it, pay the exchange cost, and draw a new card from the deck. The cost of the first card exchange in a round is 1 mana point and increases by 1 mana point for each subsequent card exchange in the same round.
- 6. After completing all planned actions, declare the end of your turn.
