Short Biographies

A new series of “pocket” books from Lembos publications. The series aims to introduce readers to not only the works of great authors but also the era in which they excelled, as well as to illuminate the events in their lives that shaped their character and, consequently, their personal style.

It offers the general public condensed knowledge on various topics related to the lives of great literary figures. Through its pages, unique facets, episodes, and anecdotes of their lives and works are presented in a simple manner.

These are not strictly “academic” studies—the honor of that belongs to the theorists and scholars of world literature—but neither are they simplified or popularized approaches. Each short biography is based on reliable sources from Greek and foreign literature and on the extensive personal study of the respective author, ensuring its completeness.
