Description

Description

This book presents patristic sayings and theological testimonies that approach the Passion and Resurrection of Christ not as abstract ideas, but as a living experience. The Fathers do not write about the Cross theoretically; they write as people who were crucified inwardly and resurrected their hearts in Christ. Every following text is the fruit of prayer and struggle.

The reader is invited not merely to understand but to participate. To pass through the Cross toward the Resurrection. To let the old self be buried so that the new one may emerge. Because—as the Church teaches—Easter is not a historical event, but a way of existence. It is the invitation to live “in the newness of life.”

The Crucifixion cannot be conceived without the Resurrection. For Christian consciousness, the Cross and Resurrection constitute an organic unity. The Resurrection does not come after the Cross; it is found within the Cross. The Fathers insist that the Cross is already victory, and the Resurrection its manifestation. The tomb is not the end but the passage. The Descent into Hades is not defeat but an invasion of life into the domain of death.

We wish that this book becomes a companion on the Easter journey of all; a word of consolation, light in the darkness, testimony that death does not have the final word: “Let no one fear death; for the death of the Savior has freed us.”
