Malifaux, a distorted mirror of an alternate world in the 1900s, is a universe of gothic horror, featuring Victorian architectures, steampunk constructions, and Wild West gunmen. Filled with resurrected hybrids, monstrous vengeance ghosts, and other night hauntings, these almost anarchic avenues are worth the effort for some, as the Soulstones deep inside cavernous catacombs are more valuable than the sweat and blood needed to acquire them.

These resilient men and women seek a life free from the laws and oversight of the Guild and their counterparts. Outcasts often become criminals or mercenaries, selling their services to the highest bidder. Frequently dealing with those in power, these mercenaries take on the dirty jobs others would avoid… or seek their own paths to power.
