The 1U rack-mount digital audio broadcasting unit is designed for scheduled playback of sound. Audio files are stored on removable SD cards and can be transferred either by inserting the card into a computer or recording directly onto the DM-8.
Programs are also saved on the SD media as separate files, which can be edited with a computer and stored as backups. Separate SD cards can store different audio messages and programs and can be swapped out for various routines.
The microphone/line input can be used for recording or live announcements, which can replace SD playback.
An BGM input is provided for playing background music with its own volume control and remains silent when messages are played or during announcements. Up to 99 programs can be scheduled to playback a specific sound file from the SD card, set with 24-hour time and days of the week.
The DM-8 can be added to any audio system to provide automated playback of scheduled announcements, music, or sound notifications.
