Ambroxol, the active ingredient in Mucosolvan, stimulates the secretion of mucus in the respiratory system, easing its drainage and relieving cough. This syrup is indicated as a mucolytic agent for the treatment of acute bronchial conditions and exacerbation episodes of bronchopulmonary disease or other chronic bronchopulmonary illnesses associated with abnormal mucus secretion and difficulties in its transportation.

Composition (per 100g of syrup):

• Active ingredient: ambroxol hydrochloride; 5 ml of syrup contains 15 mg of ambroxol hydrochloride.
• Other ingredients: sucralose, benzoic acid, hydroxyethylcellulose, forest fruits flavor PHL-132 195, vanilla flavor PHL-114481, purified water.

Dosage and administration:

• Children: Doses should be adjusted according to the severity of the condition: - Children aged 6 – 12 years: 5 ml of Mucosolvan Junior syrup 15 mg/5 ml, 2 – 3 times per day. - Children aged 2 – 6 years: 2.5 ml of Mucosolvan Junior syrup 15 mg/5 ml, 3 times per day. - Children aged 1 – 2 years: 2.5 ml of Mucosolvan Junior syrup 15 mg/5 ml, 2 times per day.
• Adults and adolescents (over 12 years): The recommended dose is 10 ml of Mucosolvan Junior syrup 15 mg/5 ml, 3 times per day.

Contraindications:

• Do not use Mucosolvan if you are allergic to ambroxol or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

Precautions:

• Before using Mucosolvan Junior, consult your doctor or pharmacist if you have severe kidney or liver conditions.
• Serious skin reactions have been reported in association with the use of ambroxol hydrochloride. If you notice transient skin rashes, including those of the mucous membranes, stop use immediately and contact your doctor.

Pregnancy, breastfeeding and fertility:

• If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, suspect you may be pregnant, or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
• Pregnancy: Mucosolvan is not recommended during pregnancy, especially in the first three months.
• Breastfeeding: Mucosolvan is not recommended for breastfeeding mothers, as ambroxol hydrochloride is excreted in breast milk.
