The use of concrete in construction projects dates back to ancient Greek and Roman city-states. However, for many reasons, the concrete construction industry has negative impacts on the environment. It consumes many raw materials, while the main raw material of concrete, cement, is responsible for carbon dioxide emissions, putting the environment at risk due to global warming.
This report proposes solutions related to the characteristics of concrete mixes composed of ash, sand, cement, and water. In this document, a comparison is made between a standard concrete mix and a concrete mix enriched with ash material using BASF's MasterEase chemicals. Furthermore, this study found that the compressive strength of the ash concrete mix was higher than that of the conventional concrete. For a given task, the slump of the concrete is significantly affected by its specific weight.
