Ci siamo is our new innovative textbook for Italian as a late-beginner foreign language. This single-volume textbook systematically prepares learners linguistically, thematically, and methodologically to reach the B1/B1+ level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Learning success is ensured through continuous contextualization, competence orientation, and internal differentiation.

Through the engaging textbook characters, students get to know everyday Italian life in all its facets and steadily expand their intercultural competence. Topics such as family, living, food, shopping, leisure activities, and travel are central, and with increasing progression, social issues, media, the professional world, politics, history, and literature are also covered.

A double-page introduction offers a motivating entry into the theme of each lesson, serves as lexical preparation, and creates diverse opportunities for speaking.

Each lesson is systematically divided into an A and B part. Further subdivision into two to three sections allows for a multiperspective and varied approach to the lesson topics.

The diverse contextualized exercises are consistently marked with the competence to be trained, enabling quick orientation.

The partly authentic, partly didactically adapted materials are always student-centered and motivating, specifically tailored to late beginners.

In the spirit of discovery learning, grammar is always introduced inductively. Simple drilling exercises and more complex grammar tasks enable sustainable learning.

To train lexical competence, each lesson also includes exercises for recycling and expanding vocabulary.
