Description

Scambio is our new textbook for Italian as a third foreign language, consistently contextualized with a focus on competence orientation and differentiation.

Volume 1 prepares students linguistically, thematically, and methodologically to confidently reach level A1+ of the Common European Framework of Reference.

Using challenging, student-relevant, partly authentic, partly didactic materials, learners fundamentally and age-appropriately expand their linguistic and intercultural action repertoire to handle typical communication situations during a stay in Italy. Through the experiences of the textbook characters, they get to know everyday Italian life (family, school, city tours, shopping, leisure activities, celebrating festivals, travel) and gradually acquire sociocultural knowledge.

The student book:

  • introduces each lesson topic with a double-page Ingresso and offers primarily lexical preparation through diverse (visual) materials.
  • is clearly structured by systematically dividing chapters into parts A and B and further subdividing into smaller text units (A1, A2, B1, B2) with an attached differentiated exercise section, allowing learners to work on complete units even within single lessons.
  • includes thematically appropriate tasks for listening and reading comprehension and, from lesson 3 onwards, for mediation.
  • enables increasing internal differentiation within the learning group as proficiency grows through exercises of varying difficulty levels and playful expansion of the topics covered via the pagine facoltative (optional pages with additional exercises, information, and offerings from poetry or music).
  • links each lesson with a learning strategy.
  • offers a complex competence task after every second lesson for independent active application and deepening of newly acquired skills.
