A surreal novel with multiple interpretations. The protagonist of the story decides to disappear before life leaves a definitive mark on him. He closes the door of his apartment and slips into hibernation, similar to that of other animals, which seems less like sleep and more like an invitation to something invisible. Through the silence, memories that do not obey their order awaken, dreams that demand space, places that appear as fragments of another reality: the dark basin of an Athonite monastery and a Cycladic mine, where a face seems to have been waiting for him for centuries.

A woman searches for him persistently and inexplicably. The peacocks of Skaramagas silently, almost ritualistically, remain the only keepers of the truth. From the opening of their wings, the beginning and the end will be revealed.
