  • Type

    Standard Zoom

The visual they offer is very close to human eyesight and is often referred to as "normal". They provide a natural result with minimal distortions, while also having zoom capability. Their focal distance usually starts from 40-55mm in full frame, 25-40mm in crop frame, and 80-100mm in medium format.

  • Mount

The type of mount that the camera body must have in order for the lens to be fully functional when attached to it.

    2. Some lenses can be used with older mounts from the same manufacturer, sacrificing certain functions (e.g. autofocus), or even with mounts from other manufacturers using an adapter.

  • Item

Lenses with variable optical (zoom) that remain equally bright (same maximum aperture value) throughout the entire focal distance range they offer. Usually significantly more expensive than their variable aperture counterparts.

    Fixed Aperture Zoom

Lenses with variable optical (zoom) that remain equally bright (same maximum aperture value) throughout the entire focal distance range they offer. Usually significantly more expensive than their variable aperture counterparts.

  • Sensor Type

    Full Frame

Photographic lenses designed for use on full frame sensor cameras. A full frame lens can also be used on a crop frame sensor camera, but with its focal length adjusted according to the corresponding crop factor.

For example, a full frame lens with a focal length of 50mm (standard) on a camera body with a crop factor of 1.6 will function with a perspective as if it were an 80mm lens (telephoto).

The reverse does not work as the optics of a crop frame lens are not sufficient to cover an entire full frame sensor, resulting in the edges of the frame being black (severe vignetting).

  • Maximum Aperture (f)

Opening the diaphragm determines the amount of light received by the camera and affects the depth of field.
    2. The most open aperture of a lens is called the maximum. The more open the aperture (smaller f-number), the shallower the depth of field.

Description

Description

The Tamron 35-100mm F/2.8 Di III VXD is an exceptionally compact telephoto zoom lens for full-frame Sony E-mount cameras. It covers the most popular portrait focal lengths with a constant, fast F/2.8 aperture, delivering high resolution, fast VXD autofocus, and moisture resistance.

35–100mm Zoom Range & Constant F/2.8 Aperture

The lens covers the most popular focal lengths for portraits and everyday use, including 35mm, 50mm, 85mm, and 100mm. With a constant, bright F/2.8 aperture throughout the zoom range, it delivers consistent performance in low light and smooth bokeh that makes the subject stand out by separating it from the background.

Exceptionally Compact & Lightweight Design

Designed with portability as a priority, it weighs just 565g and measures 119.2mm in length, making it ideal for travel and extended handheld shooting. Its minimal barrel extension keeps the center of gravity stable, offering excellent balance even when used on a gimbal for video recording.

Lightning-Fast VXD Motor & Close Focusing

The VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) linear focusing mechanism ensures lightning-fast, precise and quiet autofocus, ideal for photography and video. Meanwhile, with a minimum focusing distance of 0.22m at the wide end (magnification of 1:3.3), it enables creative close-ups and supports customization via the TAMRON Lens Utility app.
