The survival axe SKYLOTEC North Couloir Hammer Ice Axe is designed for ice climbing and mountaineering. It features a hammer for placing ice screws and anchors on ice or rock during ascents. It is durable for glaciers, steep north-facing slopes, couloirs, and ravines.
The axe shaft is made from lightweight alloys and has undergone an anodizing process to increase its weather resistance. The handle is optimally shaped for comfortable use and has two types of grips: the first with an ergonomic shape for quick hand changes, and the second that prevents the hand from slipping off the grip.
The curved shape of the shaft ensures maximum comfort in movement, facilitating the placement of the axe on the ice and the climber’s ascent. For those who wish to increase striking power, the axe allows the attachment of weights included in the package. At the bottom of the axe there is a sharp stainless steel spike with a hole for attaching a carabiner or strap.
