Cut madder root (Rubia tinctorum), dried and cut into small pieces for easy use. Traditionally used in herbal dyeing for producing shades of red, as well as in folklore and botanical applications. Natural plant-based product, without additives.

Dosage: 70 g of madder root for 15 eggs.

Madder has medicinal properties. Its root contains the most important active substances:

  • Glycosides (ruberythric acid, asperuloside)
  • Citric acid and other acids
  • Tannins and pectic substances
  • Sugar
  • Protein
  • A small amount of fatty oil

The glycosides are reported to have anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic effects on the urinary system and, when excreted, give a rosy-red tint to the urine.
