Dosage: 70 g of madder root for 15 eggs.
Madder has medicinal properties. Its root contains the most important active substances:
- Glycosides (ruberythric acid, asperuloside)

- Tannins and pectic substances

- A small amount of fatty oil
The glycosides are reported to have anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic effects on the urinary system and, when excreted, give a rosy-red tint to the urine.
