In athletic shoes I wear 44 1/2, and with these I wore 42. The sizes are very misleading.
Other than that, they are very soft; you want to wear them all day. However, they make "strange noises" when you walk.

They bear no resemblance to the old classic Birkenstocks; they have been completely plastified. But that makes them extremely lightweight. A small issue with the anatomical footbed until the foot gets used to it.
