Description

Description

The RP-160M speakers from Klipsch are classified as bookshelf speakers because they are placed on a shelf or a special stand, which is sold separately. In this category, they are usually the main speakers of an audio system, but due to their small size, they can also be used as peripheral speakers for better simulation of surround sound. Their power and impedance are 100W RMS and 8Ω respectively, which means they can be connected to an amplifier with the corresponding characteristics. These are 2-way speakers, meaning the sound frequencies are reproduced by two drivers, a tweeter for the highs and a woofer for the lows.

  • Maximum Power: 100W

  • I believe for their price (purchased at 399) they cannot disappoint you. Paired with a Yamaha A-S502 amplifier. The result is simply perfect. Be careful with the dimensions, they are bigger than they look.

At €399 I don't think they have any competition. For rock and metal but also for house, the speakers are very good! I got them after listening to them at a friend's house and even with my own amplifier, the CA axr100. They are not shrill at all and their bass is amazing! I also have some older B&W which are a completely different speaker. The Klipsch pick up from low and really play from 0.

UPDATE 28/02/26 After 100+ hours the sound has changed for the better!! I increased the distance between them to about 2.7m. A little toe-in and I think I upgraded my whole sound system!! Soundstage, clarity and bass that I really didn't expect from a speaker in this price category... I wonder how the floorstanders would sound...

What can one say about this company, very high-quality product, sound very good, I think that at this price you won't find anything better! Now as for the shipping, I received it in one day (outside of Attica) very professional there at the sound expression, well done!

Incredible sound, premium build. They are still breaking in and I can't get enough of listening to them. Even though I was hesitant to switch from towers to bookshelf, the change left me speechless. Clear sound across the entire spectrum, even from the lows. At the price they are now, it's a steal

Whatever one may say about these speakers is truly an understatement. Amazing bass from a 6.5'' woofer, midrange and highs from another planet. Build quality is unmatched. Incredible pairing with Marantz M-CR612. A little tip for even more bass, the hollow custom wooden stands filled with 11kg of gravel each ending in spikes. The entire building shakes, especially during movies.

    Beautiful speakers. Nice, open sound.
I have noticed an upgrade in my stereo sound (even if I'm not a guru...)
They are still breaking in - I will come back.
1/10/2024: 3 months later with a lot of break-in, they provide a nice, very direct, and detailed sound. Deep, tight bass (I hear complaints at home), open highs, and warm mids. I never found them to be "bright," as I read.
Of course, they do not forgive poor recordings and highlight weaknesses in the system. When these are properly connected, the bar is raised significantly.
I have not tried bi-wiring or high volumes.
CD-streaming-music files: Linux PC and DAC SMSL SU-1 (very good result)
    Amplifier: Denon PMA 715-R
Turntable: doesn’t sound right to me, still exploring
