In the church where he was visited, there was an icon of the Virgin Mary. In the morning, during the chanting of the usual hymn, the elder began to sing the hymn: "It is truly meet to bless thee, O Theotokos, ever-blessed and most pure, and the Mother of our God." This symbolic moment defined how Christians sing the hymn of the Theotokos to this day.
After the hymn, the elder disappeared, and according to tradition, the image of Christ above the church's iconostasis was swiftly moved to the left, while the icon of the Mother of God was moved to the right. This arrangement has been maintained to this day on the carved iconostasis of the monastery.
