"The Ten-String Spirit-Driven Trumpet" is one of the most significant texts in contemporary Athonite mystical literature. Its author is Saint Joseph the Hesychast, the humble one of worldly education, but "the renovator of Mount Athos," according to the saying of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.
The book, divided into ten "trumpets," functions as a practical guide for healing the soul and attaining divine Grace permanently. It is a "divine tablet" and another "Ark of the Covenant" — as Metropolitan Athanasius of Limassol mentions in his Prologue — for the modern person seeking in the darkness of the times the uncreated Light of Christ.
The edition includes an Introduction and Comments by Elder Ephraim, Abbot of the Vatopedi Monastery, as well as interpretive comments from Elder Joseph of Vatopedi.
