The second edition of this work became necessary with the enactment of Law 5016/2023, which amended the legal framework of international commercial arbitration in Greece, especially regarding issues addressed in this book.

However, alongside these necessary adjustments and updates, an extensive General Part has been added, which presents major doctrinal and practical issues of private international law related to international commercial arbitration. These issues primarily concern the question of which private international law should be applied in each case of international arbitration.

Finally, in the Specific Part, an additional chapter has been included on the applicable law concerning the actions of the arbitral award. This study aims to record all the conflict of laws rules applicable to international arbitration across the three main stages: the arbitration agreement, the arbitration procedure, and the substantive resolution of the dispute.
