Social practices correspond to functions in urban and suburban areas and form a mosaic of practices and uses. This means that there are as many functions and uses of space as there are social practices. When these are perceived, they are reflected in the space and institutionalized.
The interpretation of land uses is a particularly critical diagnostic process that moves between legal doctrine and the historical, social, as well as economic reality. Thus, historical time becomes an interpretive tool for land use.
However, land use is not determined solely by the primacy of the historical approach, but its main characteristic is the dynamic balancing it expresses, as reflected in the space determined by it, which each time accommodates new social and economic needs.
The questions this study seeks to answer are whether the access economy transforms the core of each land use to such an extent that it produces different impacts on the space from those predicted by planning and urban legislation. Ultimately, what are the particular characteristics of the core of each land use?
