    “Where the Chrysanthemums Bloom” is a book that is worth all of us reading, because it sheds light on an important and not-so-well-known part of Greek history: the participation of Greeks in the Korean War.

    The story is powerful, human, and moving. Through Themos and Gu-Hwa, we see how even in war, in fear, and in loss, love can be born and remain alive for decades.

    It is not simply a love novel. It is a tribute to the people who fought far from their homeland, but also a reminder of the power of memory, sacrifice, and promises that are never forgotten.
